2024 – What Next ? …

2022 – Certified GCP: Professional Machine Learning Engineer

I was considering taking the GCP Professional Machine Learning Engineer certification for a long time since I was working as a Data Scientist. Unfortunately, GCP does not offer a Data Science certification. The most related certifications are Professional Machine Learning Engineer and Data Engineer. Once I got a job at Rakuten, Japan, I decided to prepare for the examination during the probation period. After 1 month of preparation, I became a Certified GCP Professional Machine Learning Engineer. I was really proud to have received this certification from Google.

2022 – Got job in Japan

In 2022, after working as a Data Scientist for almost 6 years in Thailand, I received a message from a recruiter on LinkedIn inviting me to try out for a Data Scientist position at Rakuten Group in Japan. While I was working at SCB, I also received a similar message to work at Rakuten Group, Japan. However, at that time, they were looking for people with at least 5 years of experience. I was really excited and interested since I was young. I have always wanted to study or work in Japan, which is why I accepted and went through the interview process until receiving a job offer in Japan.

2022 – Kaggle Level: Competition Expert

I joined Kaggle in 2017. This place taught me a lot about Data Science and Machine Learning techniques, leading me to work as a Data Scientist in various industries. But at that time, I still had zero medals. One day, I got a message inviting me to form a squad in a team competition. We started together and finally got a bronze medal in the Multi-Single Cell Competition. The next bronze was obtained from the American Express Competition, which led me to become a Competition Expert. I am thankful for my friends and the community, including both the Thai and Japanese squads.

2022 – TOEIC Score > 800

Back in the old days, I remembered that the first time I tested my TOEIC score, it was 333. I would win for sure if it were a slot machine. LOL. By the way, I kept trying again and again, and gradually improved to 555 and 660. The result was still not that impressive. After that, I never decided to take the TOEIC again until I got an interview at Rakuten, Japan, which drove me to achieve an exceeding 800 score to get a job. Finally, I got a score of 820. I think the result came from when I changed my job and jumped into the tech field since 2016. I have been watching, reading, and listening to all content in English. That’s a huge jump for me.

2022 – Give a lightning talk at Julia Conference

I heard about Julia programming for a while, its performance, and how easy it is to start, especially for Python users. That’s why I am really inspired to join as a speaker at the Julia Conference 2022. If anyone is familiar with Python pandas, you can try JuliaDataFrame. In this video, I share a mini project using Julia to find insights in the business. Have fun with JuliaDataFrame on this YouTube link below: Fun Insight with Julia DataFrame | Sorratat Sirirattanajakarin | JuliaCon 2022

2020 – Certified TensorFlow Developer

Around 5-6 years ago, Tensorflow version 1.x was in operation. I was really scared to use it because of the nightmare syntax, especially for beginners. By the way, there’s an alternative choice like Keras, the higher-level wrapping code from Tensorflow. Once Tensorflow became version 2.0, most syntax became easier, similar to Keras. Then I decided to take the examination and already got the certification. Here’s my credential Certification Link
